1. Service Description

GunUpdate provides AI-powered firearm identification and accessory compatibility recommendations through gunupdate.com ("the Service"). We are an informational and affiliate platform. We do NOT sell, manufacture, distribute, or ship firearms, ammunition, or accessories. All purchases are made directly through third-party retailers via affiliate links.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use GunUpdate. By creating an account, you confirm that you are legally permitted to own and accessorize firearms in your jurisdiction. GunUpdate is not responsible for local laws governing firearm accessories in your area.

3. Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. One account per person. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Affiliate Disclosure

GunUpdate participates in affiliate programs with retailers including Brownells (via CJ Affiliate), MidwayUSA (via ShareASale), Cabela's/Bass Pro (via CJ Affiliate), and others. When you click a product link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

Product recommendations are based on compatibility data, user ratings, price, and relevance. Commission rates do NOT influence which products appear first or receive higher visibility.

5. AI Accuracy & Disclaimer

Our AI-powered firearm identification is provided "as-is." While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee 100% correct identification. Always verify compatibility with the manufacturer's specifications before purchasing any accessory. GunUpdate is NOT liable for:

• Incorrect AI identifications
• Incompatible accessories purchased through our links
• Damage to firearms from incorrectly matched parts
• Price changes at third-party retailers
• Out-of-stock items at partner stores

6. User Content

You retain ownership of photos you upload and content you create (reviews, builds, comments). By publishing content, you grant GunUpdate a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display it on our platform and partner widgets. You may delete your content at any time.

You agree not to upload illegal, offensive, misleading, or copyrighted content. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms without notice.

7. Legal Accessories Only

GunUpdate only lists accessories that are legal at the federal level in the United States. This includes optics, grips, stocks, lights, slings, magazines (where legal), and similar accessories. We do NOT list:

• Items regulated under the NFA without proper licensing
• Ammunition
• Firearms themselves
• Any item illegal under federal law

Local and state laws vary. It is YOUR responsibility to ensure any accessory is legal in your jurisdiction before purchasing.

8. B2B Plugin Terms

Store partners integrating our widget agree to: display accurate product information, maintain the "Powered by GunUpdate" branding on all widget instances, pay monthly subscription fees according to their selected plan, and not modify or reverse-engineer the widget code.

Plans are billed monthly. Usage beyond plan limits (compatibility checks per month) will result in widget displaying an upgrade prompt to end users. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice.

9. Crawling & Data Collection

Our crawler (GunUpdateBot/1.0) indexes publicly available product data from gun accessory retailers. We respect robots.txt directives. To opt out, add User-agent: GunUpdateBot / Disallow: / to your robots.txt file.

10. DMCA Policy

If you believe content on GunUpdate infringes your copyright, submit a DMCA notice via our contact form with: identification of the copyrighted work, the infringing URL, your contact information, and a statement of good faith.

11. Limitation of Liability

GunUpdate is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration.

13. Changes

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be announced via email to registered users.
